The Dutch Museum of Lithography in Valkenswaard will present a special exhibition of FORRER LITHOGRAPHY that will last up till April 17, 2016. A Dutch #stoneprinting firm founded by Jan Forrer was continued by his two sons Gertjan en Martijn. Of these brothers Gertjan developed into a master stoneprinter of imposing international quality. Many famous artists at home and abroad found their way to this stone printing firm from the mid-fifties in order to have their art-lithos printed with great craftmanship.
In the exhibition you can see art-lithos from well-known artists such as: Hans Erni, Anton #Martineau, Marcel van Eeden, Emo Verkerk, #Corneille, Lon Buttstedt, Helen Frik, Piet Klaasse, Uwe Poth, Iris le Rutte, Achnaton Nassar, Hennie van de Vegt, Hans Hovy, Peter Pontiac, Nour-Eddine Jarram, Ingrid Simons, Pieter Laurens Mol, Herman Gordijn, Rene Boin, Reggy Gunn en Theo Wolvecamp. But also less well-known artists to the public are represented with surprising lithographs. They are especially known in circles of art-lovers and collectors. Moreover, there is special attention for the impressive art-book from the year 2000, made by Gertjan Forrer and commissioned by the BONK-foundation, titled ”The Nomads”. Many artists contributed to this book.
All the lithos that are on display are provided with much background information. In the show-cases there is a lot of attention to lesser work and personal memories A limited number of exclusive lithos is for sale at very special prices. During the exhibition a recently found film from 2001 is shown featuring the Forrer brothers and at the same time the well-known artist Poen de Wijs who died in 2014.
